Restaurants are enemy number one when trying to tone arms. And eating out is an integral part of how we socialize. Thus, unless you have the ability to become a hermit, which I don’t recommend, you will eat at restaurants while trying to get rid of those flabby arms.
Now restaurants are bad because their main goal is to stimulate your tastes buds as much as possible so that you come back for more. And maximum taste bud stimulation requires the use of extremely unhealthy ingredients.
You may be wondering what could possibly be so unhealthy? Well, trans fats are a prime example of an extremely unhealthy ingredient. Soon to be banned in many states, they are absolutely lethal.
Having said the above, I do NOT recommend becoming an anti-restaurant martyr. This is simply too restrictive in this day and age. Instead, minimize, and if possible, eliminate the damage. And here are 4 strategies to tone arms even while eating out:
1. Avoid protein sources high in fat: More fat translates into more taste, just what the restaurant wants. So try to stay away from pork, beef and lamb. And definitely stay away from hot dogs and ribs-they have the highest amounts of fat. If possible stick to items like chicken and tofu for best results.
2. Careful with the carbs: That bread with the butter is so tempting, I know. But if you really want to tone arms, please control yourself. Ask for the bread to not be brought out or have a salad before anything else arrives. The salad will slow down the digestion of the bread and make you feel full.
3. Avoid calorie bomb salads: All that dressing and cheese can make your salad an arm-toning nightmare. Some of the most unhealthy salads can easily reach the 1000 calorie mark. So only have one tablespoon of cheese and make sure the dressing is on the side.
4. Don’t eat everything that’s on your plate: A single meal at a restaurant can have a whole days worth of calories. This is the main reason why your arm fat will love it every time you eat out-it knows it’s going to get fed very well. Only eat half of what’s on your plate or share it with someone else.
Disclaimer: if you rarely eat out, these tips are less relevant. However, if you eat at restaurants more than once per week, then you should follow the advice in this article. You shouldn’t give up socializing when trying to tone arms!
One more thing: taking action on this advice is critical for maximum success. So make sure you put this in practice today!
