4. Hyper hydrate before exercise: Water does everything from control your metabolic rate to provide lubrication for your joints. Even more important, it controls blood volume. So having extra amounts of water before exercise is a great way to enhance performance.

5. Psychologically agitate yourself: Having a psych up period before exercising has immediate effects on your physiology. Mainly, it increases good stress hormone secretion from your adrenal glands which in turn will increase how hard you can exercise.

6. Avoid carbohydrates during your workouts: Although counterintuitive, having carbohydrates during workouts that are less than one hour in duration is bad for you. You should not eat carbs when you are exercising because they take up energy to process.

Having more efficient workouts is a great way to increase your chances of success. After all, the less time you have to spend in the gym, the more likely it is that you will stay the course.
