Recognizing Friendships That Make A Difference In Your Life

Friendship is so important to us as a people, that sometimes we even accept people into our lives that are not the best influences. If we hang around people that bring us down, then we will end up like them, and not live up to our potential, so it is important to have good friends that are good influences on us.

There are a few things you can look out for to tell what kind of person this friend makes you:

One easy and pretty noticeable way to decide if you have bad influences is to ask yourself if you are going places and taking part in things that you know are wrong.

When you start to notice how you are doing things you don’t even like only when you are hanging out with them, then this is a good sign that you shouldn’t be with them. If you don’t smoke, drink, or party, why would you be associating with people that do?

And don’t let peer pressure factor into this. Your true friends will always accept you, so don’t pretend to be someone you are not.

A guilty conscience can do wonders, and if you feel bad about hanging out with certain people, then there generally is a reason for it, and you should listen to yourself. When you start wondering why you are with these people, this is a good sign that its time to get out.

Sometimes a friendship is only for a short period of time, and you may find yourself wondering what is making you keep associating with this person. When this happens, sometimes it just means that you’ve outgrown it and it is time for something else.

Look at the friends you’ve had in your life, and you can start to see what makes a good and bad friend for you. Just remember, that you can have whatever kind of friends that your want, and you can invite or let go of anyone that crosses paths with you.
