Do you really like your love handles? We’re willing to bet that you do not love your love handles at all. In fact, we are willing to bet that you actively dislike the extra weight that you are carrying around. Love handles are uncomfortable. They can also be itchy and painful if they are growing quickly. However, there is no law that says you have to keep that extra weight on your body. Dealing with your love handles can be done in a lot of different ways. Move around. Even low impact exercise, like going for a walk around the block, can be healthy. If you don’t want to leave your house, look into buying a treadmill. You can walk in front of your television set if you like. Dancing to your favorite music is another option. Whatever you choose do to just make sure that you are active. Stay sedentary will not help the weight go away. You will just gain more weight just sitting around. The last thing you want is for your love handles to get bigger, right?
Practice proper posture. Sitting up and standing straight all day burns energy, i.e. calories. Calories are burned as you expend this energy. Sitting up straight can be a form of exercise if you aren’t use to it. Proper posture just looks better. Slouching around makes your love handles look bigger than they really are.
Another helpful practice is to keep a journal. It might feel like a giant annoyance to write down all of the exercise you do and all of the food you eat. It can be very helpful, however, in the long run in helping you figure out how to balance your lifestyle. Then there is no doubt how many calories you need to burn, because you can see what you have eaten. If you are exercising and eating well but aren’t seeing your love handles shrink, you can show your journal to your doctor for help in figuring out what might be going wrong. Your doctor can better help you find a proper routine if they are fully aware of your lifestyle.
It doesn’t have to be difficult to deal with your love handles. In fact, with a few lifestyle changes, you should see your love handles disappear. Remember though, it will take time for you to see results. Soon they will be a thing of the past though, with the proper diet and exercise plan. Focus on fitting into those skinny jeans with no overlap!
