How To Push Your Fitness Limits

Adaptation is the hallmark of the human body. Without adaptation, we would have never survived as a species.

But there is a catch. This strong ability to adapt makes it increasingly harder to change on a consistent basis: it’s the thorn in your fitness progress.

So here is how to push your fitness limits to keep on getting better and better:

1. Start breaking out of your mold: And this doesn’t have to necessarily involve your fitness program. You can prepare yourself psychologically by shaking up small aspects of your daily routine that will make you better equipped for the major changes.

2. Ask yourself what will happen if you don’t change course: Once you quantify the negatives of not changing, you will become more empowered to change. So make sure you set aside some time in the very near future to write down the negatives of not doing.

3. Go over things in your mind: We are so busy day in and day out that many times we simply go through the motions. The problem with this approach is that it leaves you with no time for mental visualization. So start setting aside time for mentally visualizing the next steps for fitness success.

4. Keep your support network strong: This can help you during difficult times and can also help you increase motivation, especially if your support network has similar goals. The key here is to make sure you don’t attach yourself to a network that has incongruous goals.

5. Do not be afraid to fail: Most people are afraid to fail and this is a bad thing. You see, you need to fail in order to succeed. Most people don’t realize that the most successful super stars are also the ones that have the highest failing rates.

Adaptation allows you to survive, but it can also prevent you from changing in a linear and predictable fashion. Thus, it’s essential that you constantly push your limits so that you can get continual results. And remember that taking action is still the most important part of the process!
