How To Stay Slim When Dining At Restaurants

Eating out is part of our culture. It’s a time for socializing and a time for not having to worry about meal preparation and clean up.

The bad news here is that eating out can singlehandedly make you gain a lot of weight.

So here is a guide on how to avoid excessive weight gain when eating out:

1. Don’t starve before eating: If you let yourself get really hungry, you are more likely to eat way too many calories. Please do not try to get your money’s worth by eating everything under the sun when you arrive at the restaurant.

2. Take half of your plate home: And stash half of it away before you start eating. This will make sure that you don’t have the opportunity to misbehave. After all, if the food isn’t on your plate you can’t eat it. And keep in mind that a single meal can have an entire days worth of calories.

3. Avoid the bread basket temptation: Having lots of bread before you even begin your meal is a surefire way to get in bad trouble. You see, flooding your body with carbohydrates before you begin eating will put a huge dent in your progress.

4. Avoid fat cuts of meat: Instead opt for lean cuts like top loins or sirloins. You see, fatty steaks and hot dogs have lots and lots of fat. And this much fat can send your calorie count through the roof. So make sure you go lean here.

5. Don’t go deep fried: The problem with deep fried food is that once the oils used for frying are exposed to heat they can become rancid. So it’s in your best interest to avoid these types of fried foods no matter what when you are dining out.

6. Increase vegetable intake: This can singlehandedly prevent you from eating too much food when you are dining out. You see, increasing vegetable intake is a great way to fill up your stomach with a source of food that is high in nutrients, but low in calories.

Eating out doesn’t have to be a nail in your fat loss efforts. Just make sure you take heed on the advice here, but more importantly, take action!
