Ever wondered what the most important reasons are that hold you back from a great night’s sleep? Here are my top four reasons for insomnia and issues getting to sleep.
1 Stress and Anxiety.
Anxiety and stress play a massive part in our day to day lives and that is the reason why I have listed them as the number 1 reason which explains why people can have insomnia.
We have all suffered from insomnia the day before a huge event, whether or not it is an examination, job interview or massive family occasion. You lie in bed the night before and just can’t get to sleep, you toss and turn and sleep evades you. What is the result of this? The subsequent morning when you should be fresh and at the very top of your game to deal with the major event, you suffer from sleep deprivation and as a result your pleasure or performance is influenced. Not a very pleasant way to deal with a job interview or enjoy your wedding is it?
If you have stress on a constant basis due to your job, money concerns or any other reason it can cause persistent insomnia. Lingering insomnia is very damaging as it impedes the way that we function and decreases our delight in life.
2 Environmental disturbances
There are numerous environmental problems that could affect the way we sleep. They range from lighting, noise, temperature and a lot more. To let you have a great night’s sleep you need to be aware of precisely how much your environment is interrupting your sleep and what you can do to dispose of the interruption.
3 Foods and drinks
What and when we drink and eat really affects the way in which we sleep, and could cause insomnia. With all of the modern ‘conveniences ‘ we seem to be eating more and more processed food as part of our standard routine. Processed food and alcohol have large amounts of sugar in them. These are stimulants and can keep your body active while you are trying to go to sleep.
4 Medical conditions
There are lots of medical conditions that can affect your sleep. The medication we take to address our symptoms can also interrupt our sleep. So when you look at how medical conditions affect your live, you can’t just look at the condition, you also need to inspect everything linked with it.
