Is Insulin Resistance Negating Your Ability To Get In Shape?

Diabetes is an extreme form of insulin resistance, a condition where your cells resist absorbing carbohydrates.

Unfortunately, many fat loss hopefuls aren’t aware of how to deal with this issue.

So, without further ado, here is how to deal with insulin resistance so you can get in shape faster:

1. Lift weights at least twice per week: This is the best training modality for reversing the ill effects of insulin resistance. You see, weight lifting will actually change the surface of your cells in such a way that insulin resistance is mitigated.

2. Try to ramp up intake of legumes and beans: The more legumes and beans you eat, the better off you will be. This doesn’t mean you have to give up whole grains, but just try to focus more on legumes and beans for the best results here.

3. Avoid meal replacement powders: You are far better off getting your nutrition from whole, natural foods. You see, powders digest much faster than regular food. Thus, powders and meal replacements can make insulin resistance worse.

4. Eat a lot more vegetables: The more vegetables you eat the slower your stomach will digest food. And having slowed and controlled digestion is an excellent way to battle insulin resistance. You see, one of the causes of insulin resistance rapid digestion.

5. Control the size of your meals and increase their frequency: The more frequent your meals are, the lower your blood sugar will be. By the way, lower blood sugar combats insulin resistance. So the best strategy here is to have smaller, but more frequent meals.

6. Don’t drink calories: Drinking calories is a surefire way to gain more weight and to make insulin resistance worse. You see, liquid calories get digested too quickly. You are far better off sticking with whole foods only. This is the best way to get in shape and reverse insulin resistance.

Insulin resistance doesn’t have to be a nail in your weight loss coffin. As long as you take action on the advice here you will be just fine!
