It’s Day 9: We Are Still Waiting Around For The HCG Diet Kit

So Lisa and I (the buddy I made a gambling wager with about our progression on the HCG diet) have been studying up online about the HCG diet. And there are a couple problems that we have decided we’re going to have some struggles with.

There are many various comments and posts about the issue, but the trouble is that many of them contradict the others. Lisa and I have chosen to disagree when it comes to the rules until we actually receive our HCG diet protocol in the mail along with our products package.

But I can’t help but scroll through some of the accessible info online and make note of a few of the things that are jumping out at me as impending issues: berries, substitutions, ground meat, diet soda and Crystal Light.

I cannot believe there is no diet pop or Crystal Light allowed according to the HCG diet protocol that is discussed in a lot of the blogs I found! Can that be true? If so…that is wild. I figured I could do anything as long as I had access to a diet pop once or twice a day. And if need be…I figured I could substitute that diet pop for Crystal Light.

I mean, if I cannot have a succulent dessert when one is offered…I better have my hands wrapped around a diet pop or SOMETHING! But I’m going to put a pin in that and revisit the issue when the actual protocol confirms my ugly, ugly suspicions.

Next I have to whine about the lack of berries in the hcg diet protocol. I somehow assumed they were included, but we have found several postings from dieters that indicate that the strawberry is the only berry allowed. Could that be true? There are so many wonderful berries out there to choose from and we’re to stick strictly to the strawberry? I’m very disappointed in this possibility. (I’m really kind of hoping that it’s not actually true…just give me my unrealistic dreams. They’ll be blown out of the water soon enough. You don’t have to be the one to do it).

I also read about ground meat. Apparently it’s a definite “no-no.” That makes sense so I bet it’s right. I’m just going to have a difficult time telling my little brother the next time he hosts one of his frequent grilling nights for the fam. He’s a hunter and he’s so proud of the fact that the ground meat he uses for his burgers actually comes from his own hard work! He’s got a freezer full of ground meat of all sorts and it’s always very good. I guess I will have to bring my own tiny steak or something. And he’ll just have to accept my apologies for purchasing my own meat.

The only other thing that really stands out as problematic is the issue with substitutions. Basically…there don’t seem to be any. I figured that you could “save” items to eat later. Like a fruit for late afternoon or even evening. Or your Melba toasts for the middle of the night if you had to stay up to work late, etc.

But I read a couple complaints and/or reprimands from different dieters about this specific theory. Basically…I guess I just have to suck it up and wait it out. When the instruction manual get heres I will study it from front to back and learn the rules and then follow them; mostly because I think it would be awesome to lose 25 to 50 pounds in 25 days and also because if I follow the rules perfectly that means my dieting buddy, Lisa, will owe me a brand new pair of jeans. I’m thinking I want a new pair of Big Stars or maybe a nice pair of MEKs.
