Many of us out there would love to have a nice, full set of lips like Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. Up until the last couple of decades; we were all forced to live with whatever we were born with. These days you can book an out-patient appointment with a cosmetic Doctor and have your lips looking more plump in less than a half an hour. You can have small lip injections done, to test the waters and see how you would look with plumper lips — or opt to go all the way and double the size of your lips.
It’s important to note that injection procedures are a safer alternative to having cosmetic surgery done, which often involves silicone implants. Cosmetic surgeries are more permanent, but it’s hard for a surgeon to reverse the changes if you’re not happy with them. With that said there are three popular types of lip injections available to consumers: 1) Human Collagen. 2) Bovine Collagen. 3) Hyaluronic Fillers
1) Human Collagen
Human collagen injections provide long lasting plumping results and are quite affordable. Unlike bovine collagen, there is no worry of an allergic reaction, as human collagen is compatible from one person, to the next. Note: The collagen is derived from cadavers and/or during operations.
2) Bovine Collagen
The only difference between human and bovine lip injections is that a small number of people are allergic to bovine collagen. Therefore, you must have an allergy test done prior to the procedure. Why would you use it, you ask? It’s considerably cheaper than human and hyaluronic fillers.
3) Hyaluronic Fillers
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies, that is found in our tissue and joints. The acid bonds with water molecules when lip injections are performed with it, and it moisturizes and plumps the lips naturally. Like human collagen, no allergies have been reported with this method.
