Everybody knows that having lots of extra fat on our bellies is not good. Not only is it to blame for the “muffin tops” most of us loathe so much, it puts real pressure on our bodies while adding to issues like heart disease, diabetes and more. There is a new book, however, named The Lean Belly Prescription that, according to the marketing, will help you lose your muffin top while simultaneously improving your health. This book has many reviews already and we wanted to know if it was a lot better than anything else that people are already buying so we decided to investigate it.
The book can be purchased through regular bookselling retailers like Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Borders. This helps provide credibility and legitimacy for the book. It can also help make it less difficult to buy because you don’t have to be worried about some affiliate giving a trumped up review to ensure they earn a commission on a product that doesn’t help you. The book is also composed by Travis Stork. You almost certainly recognize him as one of the doctors from the syndicated show “The Doctors” in addition to being a reality contestant on “The Bachelor.” Obviously, though, he’s more than a tv character. He is a real doctor who works in an emergency room at a legitimate hospital.
Dr. Stork uses the book to plug his Pick 3 to Lean program. Pick 3 to Lean is a plan that allows you to personalize your eating and lifestyle habits but doesn’t force you to spend a bunch of time working out. The program provide you with the chance to lose excess weight without having to give up or refrain from indulging in the things you like the most like great food, free time, etc. The strategy is focused on the N.E.A.T (or Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) principle. This is really a concept that says you can burn calories and not do lots of exercise.
From what we are able to see, the book makes lots and lots of assurances but won’t offer any new or important information. In fact, most of the advice found in this book can be found through a few simple Google searches and basic common sense. It may also be discouraging for many who are hoping for some real reasoning behind the instructions they are given. The book doesn’t dig into theory a lot. Instead it basically presents readers with a group of outlines and instructions to follow. This is a superb book for a person who likes being given instructions but doesn’t like to bother about why the instructions are given.
Traditional reason informs us that the only real way to lose weight is to take in good food and get regular exercise. This book defies that sort of reason so we don’t really know whether or not it is going to work as well as it promises to. Of course, it’s certainly worth a look, particularly when you get permission from your doctor (your own doctor, not the doctor who wrote the book).
