Losing Weight Outlined – Ways To Lose 30 Pounds

Some folks appear to have it all – and everything they do seems to fall easily into place. Conversely, others struggle with everything they do, and can always give you a reason why life is so difficult. It usually comes down to attitude, where the victors maintain a good attitude, and the victims maintain a poor one.

When embarking on a slimming regime, it’s critical to take on the outlook of the victor to get your result. Victims attempt actions over-cautiously, hoping for good things, but never really feeling they’re worthy of great results. However a victor has already visualised his or her success mentally before the reality catches up.

Let’s envision we’re on court for a tennis finale. We listen to the players before the start – One player says the outcome is now in the lap of the gods, whereas his opponent states “I am destined to be the champion!” It’s not difficult to predict who’ll win the tournament.

The victor can be defined by the term OAR – as it describes someone paddling towards success. OAR = Ownership, Accountability and Responsibility. ‘Bed’ can be used to describe a victim who remains in bed because he’s given up! B is for blame, E is for excuses and D is for denial.

Not relying on others, but taking ownership of the job is a strong characteristic of a victor. A victor likes to be accountable for everything he does – a problem solver not a problem maker. Ultimately, he is very responsible.

In contrast, the victim will always be able to tell you why he couldn’t do something. Slip-ups and blunders are never down to him; he assumes no control and so no responsibility. Justifications are always made for why he couldn’t perform well – but inevitably he’s the only one who’s convinced! After repeating this cycle of excuses and blame for a while, the victim is in denial. He’s absolutely convinced that there isn’t anything he can do to change things.

Slimmers about to embark on a life-changing fat loss regime should give themselves a mental work-out, to prepare for success. Anyone who’s a fully paid up member of the victim society will have to address their issues before they start, to truly embrace the concept of losing weight.

Attitudes (both good and bad) are simply habits, and with constant repetition they can be altered. Listen to the voice inside your head – if it sounds like a victim, then stop it and verbalise why you can succeed. Don’t think others are better than you – it’s just that some people have fought their demons and come out on top.

“There is no such thing as a hero,” as Churchill said, “only those who rise to the occasion.” We need to have a winning outlook on life in order to become a winner in the weight-loss arena.
