Just a simple 10% cut to their wages should save us a billion dollars. Heck, Let’s cut their salaries 20%, and save two billion!
Now, while we’re at it, let’s cut all bureaucrats salaries by 20 per cent. All of them. From land management to Smithsonian.
The idea here is that the government is a company that we hired to work for us. They are not in charge of us. They do labor for us, and they have not been doing what they are supposed to be doing!
What do you do when a worker is not doing what he is supposed to? You fire his fanny. In the case of the politician or bureaucrat, we have the option of telling him that because the company isn’t making money, he isn’t going to make money.
Now, I know there are a few problems with a proposal like this. Like, uh…actually,I can’t see any problems. We just need to make it happen.
So, how are we gonna get a ballot on the next vote day? I mean, these Washington (or state) lunatics aren’t going to make it happen. So we’re going to need to push a bit.
Once presented for a vote, I think we’re going to find all the help we need. I mean, republican or democrat or whatever party a person happens to be, I would guesstimate that 4/5ths of the people are fed up with making less money, and ready to share the misery. And, when you think about it, it is government irresponsibility that put us in this position in the first place.
Yes, we were too busy to notice them, but that doesn’t mean they have permission to be corrupt, fill their pork barrels, and generally spend every bit of money not nailed to the inside of an outhouse. Truth is, the second step in this procedure would be to ballot a commission into existence that has the power to charge and prosecute, to the fullest extant of the law, all these Washington malcontents. But, with your kind indulgence, we can leave that to a future action…right now, how do we vote our elected idiots to a 20% pay cut, make it so they can’t change what we do…and could we make that retroactive please?
