I Dropped 11 Pounds In 3 Months With P90x

There was once a time when I was fit. I played sports, and was active. That was during high school. After high school, college came, and like many others, I too gained weight. My schedule and procrastination habits caused me to go to bed late and wake up late so that I always missed the campus cafeteria’s breakfast. I would eat lunch and dinner and those would be my main meals. I would eat terrible food and eat fatty, late night snacks. It wasn’t long before I started to gain weight.

Over the period of around 5 years I slowly put on weight. By the time I wanted to make a difference in my health, I had gained an extra of around 25 lbs. I knew that if I didn’t change something I was just going to keep putting on the weight. I wanted to get back on the right path so I started looking for a good exercise program to follow that I could do at home.

I was watching T.V. and while flipping through the channels I landed on an infomercial that was talking about some crazy home fitness program called P90x. I watched the entire infomercial and was skeptical at first, but then I started getting more and more intrigued. I like the idea of muscle confusion, and I liked how there were 12 different workouts so I wouldn’t get bored as easily.

In the past, I would always get bored of a workout and then give up. This however, looked like it would be fun. I started getting excited that in just 90 days I could get fit at home, and after doing some research online about it, I ordered it on the Beachbody website. At this point I couldn’t wait for it to come in the mail so I could get started.

When it arrived I read everything and followed the guide. I watched the “How to Bring It” DVD and did the fit test to see if I was fit enough to do it. A group of people heard I was getting it (including my girlfriend) and they were all got excited and wanted to do it with me.

I pushed myself so hard at the beginning that for many days my arms were so sore and tight that I couldn’t extend them fully without pain. I decided that I better ease up a little because my body wasn’t fit enough to handle how hard I was pushing it. During the first few weeks I was regularly sore and struggling through the workouts.

The hardest workouts for me were the Ab Ripper X and Yoga X DVDs. While the other workouts were extremely hard, those two really challenged me. It wasn’t until day 40 that I could fully complete all of the exercises in Ab Ripper X. It was exciting to see myself get stronger and stronger as time went on. In the end I lost 11 lbs, and I felt great.

I, like so many others, lost weight and got fit doing the P90x program. All you need is to buy it, get a P90x chin up bar (or any other kind of pull up bar), and dumbbells or resistance bands, such as the B-Lines resistance bands, and you can achieve awesome results too!
