My Wet Feet – Never using A Pair of Meindl Boots

Picture a scene, it is January, it’s my bday and my lady might have purchased me golf equipment. To that note she could have got me an iPod, a pack of Cubans, something with Gucci on the box but….. You thought it, a camping excursion for 2.

I don’t like camping, its cold, its wet, it uncomfortable plus you’ve got to dress like a complete nerd. Or so I believed. I must have came across as so ungrateful, the feel of horror on my face when i opened the envelope, my initial thought was i was receiving Man United tickets but camping???? Seriously.

Alright, so facing hardship exactly what do I require? A Tent, ok which variety? Are they all the same? I saw one out of asda for 12.99 a few week ago, will this be enough? Sleeping bag? Ok the children possess one they used for a weekend at a friends sleep over, that’ll do. Woolly head wear, fresh pants, dork socks, gloves, is that it?

Well apparently definitely not. With about Thirty seconds of researching it became very clear that I was massively under estimating the quality of devices which my headache would demand.

I’ve got significantly less goods at home. Anyway, upon getting this, the helpful but nonchalant “Craig” emphasized the significance of shoes or boots and that with the completely wrong boots, my personal terrible dream will turn into shocking experience. With this kind of fear in my heart, he had me.

More or less 200 later I was the very pleased owner of some Meindl Boots . Specifically these are Meindl Burma Pro MFS Walking Boots. Swish. The boots are all hand-made in Germany and possess a pleasant Gore-Tex lining, a Vibram Multigriff Sole; I’ve got no idea what that means but apparently all this assists in dryness, airflow and stability. So off we proceed. It was subsequently what I dreamed it might be. Pretty, but freezing damp and miserable. Having said this my Craig was right and my feet stayed nice and toasty. Congratulations Mr Meindl. I do believe for my wife’s birthday this coming year, season tickets maybe in order, observe the following space.
