Notice A Loved One Acting Good Every Day

How many times do we see the bad things that occur in our world but overlook the good?

We look at the empty glass of milk that our child has been left on the table. Then we fail to see the fact that all the milk was ingested and will be acting to improve their health.

We notice the tiny flaws in a project that was performed with love by our child but do not recognize the effort that was put into the end result.

Why do these things occur? How can it be that we continually hurt the ones we love the most?

Some will allege that it is because we are trying to help them. We’re just trying to protect them from the world that they will encounter down the road.

For me, I would much rather experience the loving touch, listen to the heartfelt laughter or view the adoring glance than the ‘constructive criticism’.

It may be said that without this hard training we would surely fail upon entering the cold cruel world.

But, isn’t it more beneficial to know that you have a kind place to retire to when the going gets rough than to be hesitant to ask your loved ones for help?

Here are a few suggestions that will help you produce a safe environment for your loved ones: 1. Use a pleased tone of voice when receiving a phone call from your other half, instead of an displeased tone or a rushed tempo that indicates the partner’s call has interrupted important tasks (and inferring that they are less important) 2. Inquire about the dentist appointments or other details of the other person’s day 3. Put down the remote control, newspaper, or telephone as the other partner walks thru the door 4. Arriving home at the promised time – or at least calling if there is a delay

What these things will do is help you teach the other person that they are important to you. That they do matter.

All this comes down to is the fact that we need to honor our loved ones doing something good each and every day. There are always individuals out there waiting to tell them when and how they messed up.

If we follow Mohandas Gandhi’s statement, ‘Be the change that you want to see in the world’, our world will get a little bit better each day.
