If your immune system is constantly being beat down, you are more likely to fall of the fitness bandwagon. After all, your ability to stick with an exercise routine is directly tied to how strong your immune system is.
And you have to be careful here because a lot of what you do could be decreasing your immunity.
So here are some overlooked ways to boost your immune system for better fitness:
1. Rest more even if it feels like your are cheating: It’s hard to take more days off when you are in the groove. But keep in mind that your perception of being in the groove could be misleading. You see, your body has a limited ability to repair itself.
2. Combine heavy lifting with light movements: Heavy resistance exercise is the best way to build up the repair systems and hormones in your body. And if you combine very light activity with the lifting, you get even more benefit.
3. Avoid water that is not filtered: Water that is not filtered places undue stress on your immune system. And keep in mind that even if you don’t get sick, your immune system is still working hard to fight off the invading organisms.
4. Reduce the size of your last meal by half: This will help your body shut down right before bed. It will slow down your metabolism to a much stronger degree. And a slower metabolism will translate into better sleep at night, a prime factor for immune health.
5. Get more high quality fat in your diet: Dietary fat intake has direct control on how many repair hormones get secreted in your body. So boost your fat intake to boost your immune system strength and reduce sick days.
6. Periodically increase circulation: Good circulation is what gets your immune cells to where they need to go. In fact, increasing circulation is one of the best things you can do to accelerate recovery from virtually anything. One way to do this is by taking hot showers or baths.
Enhancing your immune system’s ability to fight off infection and to repair your body is a great way to increase your chances of reaching your weight loss goals. So take action here sooner rather than later!
