The P90X workout video series is a highly advertised and yet very effective way to shed fat and gain muscle. However, this video series is not for someone who is just beginning a workout regimen. This workout is a very intense and high energy workout series that must be followed to gain the results that are seen on the television programs.
The videos are broken down into a six day rotation. Each day a different set of exercises that focus on specific areas of the body. This workout plan also comes with a high protein meal plan that must also be followed in order to see success. Each workout is about one hour long with a short warm up and cool down period.
From the very first introduction of the the first video, it is made known that this is not going to be an easy set of workout videos, although Tony does suggest to build up to the levels seen on the videos. Tony is the main instructor who loves to use the term “bring it” for motivation. You will need a lot of stamina and endurance to complete even the first day.
In the first three days your body will go through the toning of the chest, back, shoulders, arms, and legs. Day ones workout is simply called chest and back and is focusing only on the arms, shoulders and back. When this day is finished, the muscles should be very sore and broken down to begin that healing period that will in the end give you the results one hopes for.
After the completion of the back and chest get ready to work the legs, butt, and calves. The plyometrics portion of the video requires the participants to jump and do several squats. This routine is very difficult and is sure to make the legs so sore that they will begin to heal and gain that muscle as needed.
Boxing, kicking and yoga are thrown into the workout for the next couple of days making for even more of a change in the muscles of focus. Users of the video series have said that Kenpo is a very fun way to complete the one hour workout because of the punching and kicking. Tony has a way of making the user feel as though they are right there with him.
When the term yoga is used most would think of a deep breathing and relaxing technique. This yoga for the expert could be that relaxing activity that one may be looking for, but if one has never done yoga before, this is a workout and a half. Your body will be twisted in several positions while being asked to hold those positions for several seconds that seem like an eternity.
Overall, this program is a wonderful way to actually lose weight, gain muscle and keep it that way as long as it is followed the correct way. Once the full ninety days is completed people have seen a complete overhaul in the way their bodies look. The people that Tony uses in the video series are users of the program and swear by the results. In some cases just seeing their progress is reason enough to give it a try.
What makes P90X and other in home Workout Routines successful is they are programs designed with fitness in mind including giving you tips on how to eat better.
