Running is an absolutely huge part of my life. It’s something that I believe everyone should do. Even though it’s hard to motivate sometimes, I’m always pushing myself to make sure that I did my running for the day.
Still, the benefits of running are clear as day to me and there’s one thing I’ve noticed about it all. I’ve never regretted running after I’ve finished a run.
I always feel great once I’m done with any and all runs, and I’ve come to realize that the state of the body has nothing to do with an unwillingness to run. It’s all a psychological thing that just requires discipline.
There are so many benefits to running, and they’re not just physical ones. Obviously, it’s always good to stay in shape, as running is great for your heart and your physical appearance. It’s also great for your mind though, as the endorphins secreted from a run have proven benefits.
I think that running is also good for the brain. I’m always getting more accomplished at my job after a run, and I have an easier time falling asleep.
All of these obvious benefits make it well worth giving yourself the push to go running. Do whatever it takes to put yourself on a regular schedule and you’ll see the benefits pretty quickly.
One thing that I make sure to do is to have good, motivating music with me when I run. Doing this will make things more enjoyable, and I find myself paying more attention to the songs themselves than to the fact that I’m running.
Challenge yourself as often as possible too. Not only does this make it all physically rewarding, but the mental benefits are clear, as setting goals will stimulate the mind and make the whole experience more enjoyable. I’m always trying to set new records for myself.
