There are many symptoms of menopause onset or perimenopause. You may experience some of them, all of them or none at all. Hot flushes or flashes are synonymous with older ladies who suddenly become very hot for no reason. The body has trouble regulating its temperature and this can result in flashes and even feeling dizzy. You might experience changes in your mood if you suffer from pre menstrual syndrome (PMS), but this could also be a sign that the change is occurring. Your mental state could fluctuate wildly and include anxiety, being snappy and irritable or even depression.

Tender breasts, skipped or irregular periods and a weak bladder are all early signs of being pregnant but can be mistaken for the menopause in older women. It is important to take a test even if you think you are past child-bearing age.

You may think that you are not old enough to be perimenopausal, but the change can occur even in ones early 30’s. Older women relations might be able to tell you if early onset is normal in your family.
