Benefit of using milk in a masque:
Milk is extremely high in both lipid fats and lactic acid. The lipids permeate the skin making it baby soft and the lactic acid is a natural mild exfoliator. Using milk to pamper the skin isn’t a new phenomenon. In fact, Cleopatra was known to take milk baths during her reign as pharaoh. Milk is still used in baths even today. Milk is also a great cleanser for normal, dry, and sensitive skin. If you don’t have whole milk in your refrigerator, you can also use nonfat milk as long as you add a few drops of almond, soy, extra virgin olive oil, or macadamia nut oil to compensate for its lack of fat.
How is Honey Beneficial?
Honey is a natural humectant. This means that it draws moisture from the air. This is why honey is often used in hydrating masks. Honey also has anti-inflammatory properties making it great for soothing masks too. Finally, honey is wonderful for all skin types as an anti-bacterial and natural preservative. It never goes bad. They say that the honey found in King Tut’s tomb is still edible to this day!
Make the Facial Mask:
This mask requires two tablespoons of honey and 2 teaspoons of milk. Wisk both together until a desired consistency is reached. Then put the mask on the face and wait for approximately 10 minutes. Once the time is up, simply rinse the face with warm water and pat dry. Simple as that!
The review:
You have to give this masque at least 3 to four hours to work well. I didn’t notice a change at first, but after a few hours, there was a big difference. In fact, I was surprised by how well it really did work!
