Shiseido Skin Care

The Shiseido Company, which boasts as the world’s oldest cosmetic company has been a household name for many decades. Used by beauty conscious consumers all around the world, Shiseido is currently the fourth largest cosmetic and hair care manufacturer in the world. The origins of Shiseido traces back to the year 1872 when Arinobu Fukuhara established the Shiseido Pharmacy after retiring from the Japanese Imperial Navy. It was originally a convenience store which sold sodas and ice cream in Japan. Over the years, Shiseido developed skin care products. Their first product was a softening lotion which was called Eudermine.

After their launching skin moisturizes, the company introduced face powders, which was widely used in the entertainment sector of Japan. When the business grew, they eventually opened 25,000 more outlets by 1923 and mass-production internationally began in 1957.

At present, Shiseido offers the following care lines: Bio-Performance, Benefiance, White Lucent, Pureness, Future Solution, and etc. Each line includes moisturizing creams, cleansers, make-up, and make-up removers for both men and women. The Bio-performance line is much more comprehensive and the eye cream is its most popular product. The Benefiance line is aimed for skin that is dry and mature. It also contains anti-aging cream which minimizes wrinkles.

The Skincare line offers different products that cater to different skin types, but more especially on women below 50 years old. The white lucent line is used to treat skin discoloration from sun exposure. The Pureness line is for oil control, and targets usually teens. This line uses plant extracts to restore moisture while cleansing the skin. The Suncare on the other hand is mainly used for sun protection which include facial and body creams. The products range from SPF 16 to 60.

The Shiseido brand has now several subsidiaries and brands which also specializes perfumes, skin therapy, and skin care for men. Shiseido products can be easily found in major department stores and pharmacies all around the world.
