Sticking To The Best Diet Plan Without Cheating

A survey revealed that 36% of women are cheating on their diet plans. The results from 2,000 women, are no particular shock, but they do come as a timely reminder about good (and less good) weight loss habits. If your diet is slipping already, here are a couple of common problems the surveyed women faced, and how to solve them.

A good number of those surveyed were tempted to cheat by their friend or spouse. When someone you love is setting beside you thoroughly enjoying a calorie rich snack it is going to be hard to abstain! You need the support of your friends and loved ones, especially if they are going to be eating and drinking around you. If that does not work, keep gum handy to avoid the temptations.

About a fourth of the surveyed women claimed restaurants were their problem. Regardless of your good intent, it is difficult to eat a tasteless salad when you are eating out. If you eat out regularly, you may want to scale it back to an occasional treat. Save some money while you watch your waist shrink! Now when you do go out to eat you can order what you like without worrying about the diet.

Every woman who participated in this study had tried to lose weight about eight times. That is not a large number considering most people have tried many diet plans. Nevertheless, you do have to ask whether the anxiety about cheating on your diet played a part in this.

Healthy eating is not merely a test. There are a lot of healthy eating guidelines available even if there are not hard rules. In order to lose stored fat on your body you must take in fewer calories than you burn, over a year, month or week.

A key though to keep in mind is that cheating a couple of times, slipping up or eating at a restaurant are not diet failures.

More than half the women surveyed said that they’d lied about what they’d eaten. This probably reinforced feelings of secrecy and guilt. Rather than lying when you’re having a bad day, find a friend who you can confide in – someone who’ll support and encourage you, and who won’t judge you or put you down.

The above tips are just a few helpful ideas when you feel like cheating on your diet plan. You can use as many or few of them as you like but keep in mind that if you do slip up the battle is not over. Start your diet plan over again the next day. The only way you fail is if you give up the diet entirely.

You want a diet that will finally help you trim some weight off, so you will need to avoid certain foods, however do not be quick to judge yourself a cheater. If you do, you will give up faster than you can imagine and you will surely not lose any weight.
