The not so fantastic outdoors
One Word camping….does this conjure an image of extreme survival or images of carry on camping? Me getting me its Barbara Windsor hands down not ever getting completed any genuine serious outdoor living. This was about to modify with my youngsters wanting me to participate in their youth clubs, father son camping trip. Now I thought of camping as a “cheap holiday” nevertheless this has now been firmly dispelled some 1000 later. The “approved” list from the centre was almost 2 pages of A4, and in among the modest requirements for plasters and socks had been the next items:- A Tent (obvious this one) – MSR Hubba 350,Clothes – (comprising of base layers, warm fleece, waterproofs etc) 250,Sleeping-bags – 90 not including the mats and liners,Cooking – MSR Stove 26 (believed this is reasonable),Boots – Scarpas for Dad, Regattas for the boy, ( I’m not affordable but he’s still expanding) 200 and Misc – Very first aid, food, hydration, cleansing etc 150.
