The Frozen Food Diet that Works

Have you seen the commercials for weight loss programs like Jenny Craig? Where you have a preplanned meal made for you and shipped to you, all you have to do is eat what is sent to you and you will drop weight fast. Well I was looking into it and considering it, with the shipping costs, it was still way out of my budget. So I was thinking of different ways that I could lose weight without all the cost associated with this program. I liked the idea of having my meals preplanned, and ready to cook. So I thought there may be different ways to do this.

In the frozen section of your local grocery store you will find many meals that you can use for your dieting needs. The prepackaged foods are just perfect for individual meals and the calorie counting is already done for you. You can purchase them, place them in your freezer and have meals for the week ready for your diet.

So to do the frozen food diet, you will want to plan your daily foods. You can calculate the calories from the back of the boxes, and easily find the calories for the fruits and fresh veggies that you will pick up on the side.

Your shopping list for the frozen food diet can be 7 different meals and 7 different lunches. You could also get the 7 frozen breakfast meals also, but then you could get fruit or cereal for breakfast. Even in the frozen food section you could get low calorie snacks that you can get when you have those sweet tooth cravings. Once you have your meals chosen, you then go to the fresh foods section and stock up on low calorie fresh fruits and vegetables to complete your diet food shopping.

How much could you expect to pay for your diet foods? It depends on where you live, but most frozen meals can be purchase for $3 or less. Depending on how much fresh fruits and vegetables you will purchase will vary and add to your total cost. Usually I found that if I stock up on meals when they are on sale, then I have spent less on diet foods than I would on regular foods.

This type of diet works well at least for me, because I know exactly what I will be eating during the week. It’s all preplanned and I know how many calories I eat each day without weighing it out and measuring foods. I eat more fruits and vegetables during the day and actually eat healthier.

I have lost weight doing it this way, and have it planned out for a month at a time. I don’t really concern myself with which brand I purchase, I only basically look for what will fill me up, and the calories. I would starve if I didn’t have the extra salads and fresh fruits, so that has to be a part of your meals. The packaged foods are already weighed out, so I don’t over eat, Once I am done with my meal, I know there are no more left for seconds! So that is a great incentive not to overeat.

If you are interested in the frozen food diet, then start in the freezer section and see what you can find to start losing weight today.
