The Necessary Motivation For Weight Loss Diets

Weight loss diets require motivation. Regardless which type of diet an individual is on motivation is a major factor in weight loss success. Motivation can be divided into two different types; internal and external. The healthier form of motivation is internal. Internal motivation is based upon personal needs and desires. External motivation isn’t as healthy; although it can be just as effective depending upon the situation at hand. External motivation is more commonly referred to as guilt or peer pressure. Dieters depending upon external motivation are not losing weight for themselves; they are losing weight because they think other people want or expect them to.

1. Take some before and after pictures; they provide TONS of motivation

2. weight loss diets require journaling (many dieters are starting to create video journals)

3. Blogging about weight loss (and lack of weight loss)

4. online social media sites (dieters can find motivation by interacting with others in similar positions)

5. online forums and chat groups (dieters can get a lot of motivation from reading and discussing highs and lows of dieting with other dieters even if they have never met in person)

There are many types of motivation. Motivation can come from many sources. But the clearest, most easily understood and most universal motivation is weight loss itself.
