Scarred tissues due to acne can be very irritating simply because they can behave as double punishment. After the frustration with the pimple itself, you have to manage the acne marks, which might more difficult to resolve. It will help to understand the several types of acne to help you evaluate what to do about different kinds of scarring: Acne lesions or pimples come about when the pored are clogged with excessive oil and dead skin cells. A blocked follicle allows bacteria to grow that will create the red bumps known as the pimples.
The Three Kinds of Acne:
* mild acne, or more known as blackheads and whiteheads
* moderately severe acne, which includes red inflamed pimples called papules and red pimples with white centers called pustules
* severe acne, which causes nodules – lumps filled with pus that can be quite painful – to show up underneath the skin
Most serious scarring is brought on by the more severe forms of acne, with nodules more likely to leave permanent scars than other types of acne. The simplest way to take care of acne is to have treatment just after the acne appears to prevent further severe acne and more scarring. In case you have nodules, visit your doctor or dermatologist for treatment solution. For those who have serious scarring from previous bouts with acne, there are some things that can be done. The most recent form of treatment is laser resurfacing, which can be done in the doctor’s or dermatologist’s office. The laser gets rid of the damaged top layer of skin while tightening the middle layer to make the skin smoother. This can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to an hour and is not distressing considering that the doctor will initially numb your skin with local anesthesia. The skin will recover within 3 to 10 days after treatment.
