I wish I could get to the Gym more often, but I always ensure that when I do I fit in a half hour of Cardio.
The reasons I never miss out on my Cardio exercises is the way I feel afterwards. I feel energized, am in a great mood, can concentrate easier and sleep like a baby. Add to this the fact that it held me to shift a few pounds, and you can see why I’m such a fan.
Seeing that down in print, I’m asking myself why I don’t make the effort to do it daily!
It’s time to leave my Cardio exercises behind now and return to the matter in hand. Ok, you’re in a Gym and there’s the choice of a treadmill or an elliptical machine, which one do you choose? Is there a big difference in the benefits you will achieve from one over the other?
The only way to settle this debate is to look at each one separately and list its pros and cons.
We will check out the elliptical trainer first. This does have some strong benefits over the treadmill.
Pounding a treadmill may seem like a good idea, but the stress that you are putting on your ankles and knees is immense, especially if you are overweight. As you are suspended above ground on the elliptical trainer, you are getting all the benefits of a great workout but without punishing your body at all.
As enjoyable as exercising on an elliptical may be, if all you want is a good hard run, there is no contest. You can only achieve that ‘buzz’ from pounding on your treadmill. So if running is your thing, there really is only one of these you should be considering.
If you are becoming fitter and want to give yourself more of a challenge, change the level that you are running on so it is steeper. This is more resistant so you get a really tough exercise session.
A lot of people prefer the treadmill as they feel that they are getting the benefits quicker. If you go the same distance on both, your workout will be over quicker on the treadmill, so if you stay on a bit longer, you will burn off more calories.
Besides exercise, the writer also frequently publishes information about home stereo speakers and digital video projector ideas.
