Why Cosmetic Dental Procedures?

Cosmetic dentistry is becoming more and more common. Many celebrities, such as Simon Cowell, Anna Friel and Piers Morgan have all had precedes undertaken to improve their smiles, and even when thy don’t confirm the rumours the truth is usually fairly obvious. Why is it that so many of us are craving that Hollywood smile, and what is it that makes us turn to tooth altering precedes to improve our image?

* People feel much more comfortable smiling when they are confident about their teeth.

Physiologically, the more people smile, the happier they are. In a study performed by French psychologists, they asked a set of people suffering from depression to do one thing daily in order to improve their mindstate. They told them to sit up straight, look at the ceiling, and smile for 45 minutes. Whilst this might seem a bit wacky, the results were conclusive. People who take time to smile more will experience a drastically altered mind state. For this reason, it’s great for people to feel confident and comfortable with their smiles because it’s a massive part of our physical interaction with other people.

* People with better teeth earn more and enjoy healthier social lives

Another study was shown to prove that people with better smiles generally earn more, receive more promotions and have more social engagements, as opposed to people who are more concerned or self conscious about their smiles. This is probably because we, as humans, respond more to people who smile, and especially if that smile contains healthy, white teeth.

* People often say that teeth are one of the biggest factors of attraction

A clean, white smile is one of the most sought after features in a partner according to recent surveys. Brilliant teeth rank highly alongside other features like a good sense of humour and good dress sense. The survey also revealed that bad teeth and bad breath are two of the biggest turn offs for men and women alike.

* Confidence is an unquantifiable concept.

Some believe that it is defined by inner contentment based on the psychological relationship between a person’s memory and their ability to use their conscious mind effectively without indulging in negative thoughts. One of the most notable aspects of having significant dental work done is the sense of confidence that the changes can give you. Many theorists have suggested that people experience a sense of true contentment when they alter something they are not happy with in their appearance. Changing your smile from being a source of concern to being something you are truly proud of can make an incredible difference to your psychology.
