When carbohydrates are taken, they easily break down to glucose which is the sugar that gives energy to the brain and the whole body . This glucose in turn changes to glycogen which is deposited in the liver for further use later on by the body . The body makes great use of the glucose which diminishes and needs to replenish more through hunger pangs.As such more carbohydrate is eaten to produce more glucose to produce more energy for the body. But sugary products like candies and sodas should be prevented.

Carbohydrates are very paramount for every daily balanced diet for young people, kids and adults because of the high energy content and also, people in sports basically need high carbohydrate diet to gain energy required for their performance . Those building muscles and losing weight need carbohydrate diet to gain energy. Meanwhile those with diseases like diabetes are advised to check their insulin levels and also those suffering from hypoglycemia should prevent low sugar levels too .

It is wise to consult a nutritionist to give directions on the basic specifications of recommended daily allowance– quantities to consume on daily basis to avoid obesity or to control diabetes or hypoglycemia . Carbohydrate will always be an important part of nutrition like protein, fatty acids and vitamins. For body mass and proper cell growth these nutrients are necessary but should be taken accordingly to avoid certain problems such as anorexia .
