Many uneducated and unaware teenagers claim that proactive is the best acne treatment product on the market, they believe this because their favorite singer or actor is on the tv proclaiming it to be too. They are sadly mistaken because nothing could be fruther from the truth. Just because a star endorses something doesn’t mean that they actually use it, they get paid to do these commercials! Not only have I never met anyone that has cured their acne with proactive but I have also talked to multiple people who have said that proactiv had made their acne worse. I was also one of those poeple who tried proactive when I had acne and it made it worse for me.
I think that one of the reasons that proactiv isn’t that effective is because it contains benzoyl peroxide. If you aren’t familiar with what benzoyl peroxide is you can search for it in youtube or google or on my acne erasing secrets youtube channel. Basically benzoyl peroxide is a chemical that is used in many acne treatments and you can actually just by benzoyl peroxide by the bottle as well. The problem with this chemical though is that in scientific lab tests it was found to cause cancer in lab mice and rats.
This had me pretty confused as to why proactiv and other acne treatment products and companies put this in their product. Some people just sell this by the bottle and people are either stupid and don’t care or they haven’t seen the research that links it to the cancer yet. Once I found out the dangers of benzoyl peroxide I made a review video about proactive sharing the negative side of it on youtube and many people disagree but that’s okay, it’s better to get the word out and help a lot of people only to have a few haters.
You can see my review video for that below but I highly recommend that you stay away from benzoyl peroxide, proactiv or any other acne treatment that contains benzoyl peroxide until you do your own further research. It is a good idea to look into what benzoyl peroxide is, why it’s dangerous and what you can do instead of it to treat your acne.
