You Really Need A Vacation

Have you ever felt as though your life is just a single huge roller-coaster and that everywhere you go and turn, it just keeps speeding up?

Your boss maybe demanding asking more and more from you, your partner may complain of you being workaholic and have no time for her or your children, your elderly mother may be relying on you to keep her company and manage her affairs as she had a fall recently. At the end of the day you may have felt you had enough and at a loss what to do, whom to turn to for support and how to let off steam to regain your calmness.

I’ve been teaching yoga for many years now, and my experience tells me that people are so stressed and worried about meeting other people’s demands and expectations that they put their lives into overdrive.

Odds are that if you can identify with even one of the five symptoms we will discuss here, you’re probably already overstressed, worried and taking on too much emotional baggage.

Below are some signals that should alert you to needing a vacation. You often experience body aches and pain. You can’t focus on your work, yet you work lengthy shifts. You bring the work back to your house and having feelings of resentment about the effect it has on the relationships that you’ve got. You feel perpetually weary and worn out, and not at all energetic. You find yourself dragging before you can get into the swing of things. It appears that you have lost your motivation. You may become snappy and ratty with your family and at work you become moody and irritable with your colleagues. Your heart rate exceeds normal levels. You may find that you frequently have held your breath unknowingly and caused an increase your blood pressure.

If you are experiencing this, how can you relieve the overwhelming worry and stress you are feeling? How can you ease your frustration and continuous demands that you face. What are the ways to remedy and balance your stress?

Take It Easy — Take A Vacation

All of us require rest, relaxation and some peace of mind. When was the last time you took a vacation or had taken a few days off? Vacations have a tendency to create stress, especially when you must keep your partner and children, as well as yourself, happy.

Several days’ respite from your usual routine can invigorate you and give you a fresh viewpoint as well. Generally, when you are on vacation, make an effort to be outside in the fresh air as much as you can, allow time for leisurely strolls, eat healthy and drink plenty of water. Utilize the room to rest, hit the sack early, read, do a crossword, anything to get your mind off your problems at house. Getting away for a few days can provide a new perspective, and even though the problem will still be waiting for you at home, the time away can help you figure out how to manage your troubles.

Continually being exposed to stress and not relaxing and resting may result in irreparable health issues, such as high blood pressure, failed relationships, diabetes, etc., and lack of energy are typical effects of being overworked and stressed.

If you’re overworked and tired, take a while off and go on a vacation. Step away from the typical environment and routine and utilize that time for recharging energy and increasing flagging spirits.
