10 Tips For Getting The Most From Out Of Your Workouts

1. Select an exercise pattern to suit your life style. All of us have different life styles and professions so there is no sense in trying to follow the book strictly. Try and follow an exercise routine that is suitable for you. You have to understand that.

2. Don’t stand, walk. If you can walk about then do so. Do not stand in a fixed position. Pacing about is a good thing to do. If you are thinking deeply about something, try pacing about, it will aid in your thinking.

3. Don’t sit, stand. If you can stand, then do not sit. The golden rule is to choose a position that is less comfortable.

4. This rule is extended even to the point that when you’re lying down, you should sit.

5. Avoid becoming couch potato. We are familiar with the image of a couch potato – a slouched person on a couch in front of the TV, usually eating some kind of fried snack.

If you often find yourself acting like a couch potato, you must get rid of the habit drastically and abruptly. Some good measures to take are to remove any comfortable chairs away from the TV, and perhaps even replace it with an uncomfortable one. The key is to reduce your inclination towards becoming a couch potato.

6. If sit all day at work, make sure to get and stretch or walk around every half an hour. If you have a job that requires you to sit at a computer all day, be sure to take breaks to get your blood flowing with stretches and walks.

7. Even while making telephone calls, walk around. This is an excellent way to throw in a little exercise with your regular schedule.

8. Whenever possible, take the stairs instead of the elevator. Elevators are very convenient going up tall buildings, but they will also make us extremely lay. This does not mean you always have to take the stairs all the way up to the 20th floor, which will be exhausting, but taking the stairs down isn’t too bad. Also, the elevator isn’t even much quicker than the stairs, as the doors always take so long to close and open.

9. Smoking is bad for your health, but it can also make losing weight harder. Smoking by itself may not make you gain weight but smoking actually leads to other conditions like poor eating habits and excessive dependence on other products, like coffee.

10. If you hate running, remember, you do not have to run a marathon to stay fit. 10 minutes of cardio each day is good enough for most.
