How To Burn A Little More Flab From Your Workouts

Being overweight is linked to almost all the top causes of death in western countries. So getting in shape isn’t just about looking good, it’s about living long.

So, without any more delay, here is how to burn a little more fat from your workouts:

1. Have a small meal before exercise: Although counterintuitive, having a small amount of slow digesting calories before exercise actually helps you burn more fat. Not only do you burn more while exercising, but you also burn more after exercising.

2. Exercise from the standing position as much as possible: Stay away from machines as much as possible, and try to complete the bulk of your movements from the standing position. Not only does this translate into real life, but it also activates more muscle mass which in turn burns more calories.

3. Incorporate some balance training: Don’t make balance training the center of your workouts as most commercial fitness centers do. Instead, use it sparingly to activate a little more muscle mass while not compromising the hormonal output that heavy lifting creates.

4. Use cardio wisely: Cardio can increase your cells ability to burn fat by fifty percent. However, if done in excess, it will decrease the intensity of your weight lifting sessions. And weight lifting is far more powerful than cardio for fat burning.

5. Have some caffeine: Having a little caffeine before your workout can prime your adrenal glands for enhanced secretion of stress hormones. And more stress hormones will translate into more calories burned and more mobilized fat cells. Just make sure you don’t overdo it here as too much caffeine will make you feel sick.

6. Incrementally reduce rest periods: Reducing rest periods is one of the best ways to increase the amount of body fat you burn form a workout. The key here, however, is to reduce rest periods slowly. The last thing you want is to turn blue every set.

The brutal truth is that you are not going to be able to lose a lot of weight from one day to the next. However, you can accelerate your current rate of fat loss by following these tips today!
