Chocolate is something that causes both acne and pimple breakouts. In this article i’m going to explain how acne is caused by chocolate and what you can do to still have chocolate every once in a while without it causing your acne to worsen. Chocolate in america is for the most part milk chocolate which includes both dairy and sugar.
When looking at chocolate we have to understand that because it contains milk (dairy) and sugar we need to look and see if either of these things cause acne. First let’s look at milk, this dairy is low quality and has hormones injected so that the cows will grow faster so that they can sell their milk and meat faster. These hormones once consumed in the human body cause hormonal imbalances because those hormones interfere with your hormones and cause hormonal imbalances.
When your hormones are out of balance this causes your oil production to change as well and your skin becomes more oily. When your skin is more oily it is more prone to have pimples form and grow because all it needs is a little bacteria to happen. The first reason you should stay away from milk chocolate is because it contains milk. Milk chocolate also contains sugar though which causes even more acne. Sugar causes a hormonal and blood sugar spike in your body.
When this happens your skin will becomes more oily. So what can you do in order to still enjoy chocolate but not get acne? I recommend that you eat dark chocolate because dark chocolate is not “milk” chocolate and it’s overall healthier for you. The sugar can be organic and natural instead of processed white sugar. I recommend raw dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate if you want to enjoy the chocolate and still have clear healthy beautiful skin.
