Doesn’t matter who you are or what your station in life is, a good percentage of us are carrying around too many inches and too much body fat that could be a real detriment to your health. The best mantra you could stick to when thinking about a diet is; “if you have body fat, lose it”; that way you can choose a diet or eating plan that will serve your purposes.
If you find you have what you think is the will to lose that fat and get healthy, you are in good company because thousands of folks are in the same predicament. They see the body fat, want to lose it, but just can’t dredge up the will power to make it happen. The problem is, too many of the diets and fads are too restrictive in what and when you can eat, or have you counting every little calorie that goes in your mouth so after a while you just say, “forget it, I can’t keep this up” and there goes another diet out the window. You need something tailored to your lifestyle, the foods you like, the exercise you will do, and the mental outlook to keep is all running.
Okay, so here you are on the couch again imitating a potato with a bag of popcorn and soda or beer, and watching some slim toned chick extol the virtues of the latest come on for weight loss—a magic pill that grabs all your body fat to lose it fast and sweep it out of your life forever—-all you have to do is swallow, don’t change anything else about your existence, and the fat will just melt away. Yeah, right. None of these fads work, but people get so desperate at some points in their lives that they will believe anything and fork over the money hoping that this time things will be different. Don’t fall for it. There are lots of good things that happen to your body when you follow a balanced, nutritional weight loss plan with exercise; like reduced heart disease, fighting off diabetes, and lots more energy overall.
Most of all, make up your mind that you are going to do this, and develop a positive attitude. You can move a mountain if you have to if you maintain a positive attitude, and when you have body fat to lose, the same applies. Just keep pushing yourself until you start to see some results, and you will soon see that one little positive step leads to another, and soon you are liking your diet plan and now have the motivation to stick with it. Look at all those greasy, fatty, sugar-laden foods you used to chow down on as adversaries and items that will eventually kill you because of how detrimental they are to your overall health. When you look at them like that, you soon lose the desire to have them around, never mind eat them.
A good well balanced eating plan should be one where the nutrition is such that you get something from all the food groups every day with plenty of water to keep your system flushed and working at top capacity. You should develop good sleep habits as well so that your body has time to regenerate every night, and make sure you incorporate some form of exercise to keep your inner fires burning at top rate and your muscles are toned.
Now close your eyes and picture yourself and your mental state; just how much healthy living and lifestyle change can you put up with and stay the course. Emotions run our lives because we are human and we are built that way; so you must take stock of your emotional health as well as your physical, because the two go hand in hand and one must be considered as equally as the other. If you are not ready to make a big change in your way of thinking and your lifestyle so you can work on that body fat and lose it, then any diet plan will not work. You have to do the emotional work first and be ready for the pitfalls that your emotions can throw you into, that trigger your food cravings.
Take into consideration that your new motto from now on will be “got body fat, lose it” and you will be well on your way to a new you because you have gripped the bull by the horns so to speak, and for the first time in a long time you are in control of your eating and your emotions. Believe me, they go hand in hand, and lots of diet plans out there are healthy and will help you reach your goal of losing body fat; but they must be a plan you like, foods you like, a form of exercise you can and will do without whining, and just generally a new way of living for you that will make you feel and look better than you ever have before.
