Eating out is an integral part of our culture. Thus, it’s virtually impossible to not eat out while you are trying to lose fat.
Unfortunately, eating out can make you gain weight very quickly.
Thus, here are 6 tips for eating out when you are trying to lose weight:
1. Avoid fast food establishments at all costs: The food is too processed and trans fats are hidden everywhere. Even food items on their healthy menus will have trans fats. Even worse, they will hide the trans fats in the sauces they use to cook some of their healthier items.
2. Have some roughage first: By eating lots of vegetables before your main course arrives you will prevent your body from eating out of pure hunger. You see, vegetables mechanically slow down the digestion of food and they mechanically make you feel full.
3. Don’t have deep fried anything: You see, deep frying something can make the oil and fat very rancid. In some cases, oils exposed to high heats can be worse than trans fats. So make sure you stay away from deep fried foods for the best results here.
4. Don’t indulge in bread: Bread is a sure fire path to weight gain. Not only does it have a lot of fast digesting carbs, but it also has a lot of calories. And if you eat the entire basket you will get flooded with calories. So make sure you pay attention here.
5. Take half of it home: Do this before you start eating for best results here. By simply cutting the food on your plate in half you will save yourself a lot of calories. And keep in mind that some dishes have an entire day’s worth of calories.
6. Have lots of water: By drinking a high amount of water you will help your body get rid of all the excess sodium. And sodium can make you gain lots of water weight in addition to making you very bloated.
Eating at restaurants doesn’t have to make you gain weight. As long as you have a solid game plan you will be fine!
