Losing weight really isn’t all that mysterious, but there are some common misconceptions you need to be aware of. For instance, you aren’t going to lose weight by starving yourself. In fact when you do this, your metabolism will slow down and you may well gain, rather than lose weight. It’s important to eat regular meals, but you do have to eat the right kinds of foods.
There are also some fat burning foods which are especially good to eat when you’re trying to lose weight. In combination with exercise, these foods will help you to increase your metabolism and continue to burn calories at a higher rate for hours afterwards, even after you’ve stopped exercising. These include:
Fruits rich in vitamin C like limes, lemons, oranges, guava, grapefruit, papaya, sweet lime, tangerines and tomatoes are rich in Vitamin C and fiber and have fat burning properties so they may be called as fat burning foods or fat burners or fighters. Vitamin C helps the body process fat faster and also stimulates the carnitine amino acid which speeds up the body’s fat-burning capacity.
Apples contain plenty of pectin which both helps you to absorb water to help your body use stored fat as well as limiting the ability of your body to store excess calories as fat. Like many other fruits, they contain antioxidants which may assist in staving off metabolic syndrome, which often causes a buildup of abdominal fat.
Dairy: milk, yogurt, cheese and other dairy products give you the calcium you need to burn of fat. By making dairy products part of a healthy, lower calorie diet, you’ll be able to speed up your weight loss efforts.
Chilies: Foods containing chilies or cayenne pepper are considered to be as foods that burn fat. Chilies contain capsaicin that helps in increasing the metabolism. Capsaicin is a thermogenic food, so it causes the body to burn extra calories for 20 minutes after you eat the chilies.
Proteins: Protein rich foods and high fiber foods are the best as foods burning belly fat. Protein needs more energy to digest than fat as so eat low calorie dairy products, beans, whole grains, oatmeal, eggs, etc. as much as possible. Lentils are high in protein and soluble fiber, two nutrients that stabilize blood sugar levels, therefore lentils are a great tummy flattener.
Vegetables which are high in fiber like cabbage, sweet potatoes, beets, cauliflower and broccoli are excellent fat burning foods and should also be a regular part of your diet.
In order to lose weight, the most important thing is to use more calories than you take in from your diet. By including some of the foods listed here and making sure to get some regular exercise, you’ll be on your way to burning off your fat and getting trim.
