I was reading about accutane and I found out about some side effects and negative things that I wanted to share with you so you know to stay away from accutane. I have personally seen what accutane can do even further than the side effects I am sharing with you here. My mother took accutane when she was a teenager to get rid of and her she had gotten rid of her acne but she felt different on accutane and felt it was effecting her health and body so she stopped taking it right away.
Years after my mom took accutane she had my older brother who was the first born in the family, unfortunately he was born with a birth defect because of accutane. He was born with a middle finger that only grew halfway and the doctor determined that it was a birth defect from accutane. Years after that my mom actually got cancer and they still found traces of accutane in her body at that time. In my opinion the accutane was linked to the cancer and it caused other health problems as well along with cancer.
Accutane has had many reported side effects such as dry skin and also the following as well:
* Acne flare-ups * Severe skin dryness, especially on the lips, nostrils, genitals, and eyes * Hair thinning * Headache * Hair loss * Thinning of the skin, making bruising and cuts more likely and slower to heal * Eczema * Fatigue * Brittle nails * Increased sensitivity to sunlight * Menstrual problems, including irregular or heavier period * Gastrointestinal problems, including diarrhea * Muscle pain * Skin conditions and infections, including impetigo, paronychia, and pyogenic granuloma
Is it worth taking accutane to get any of these things or even worse have cancer or a child born with a birth defect because of it or both? It surprises me that people take this drug when it has so many side effects including more skin conditions as well. Acne flare-ups and eczema are what you are trying to get rid of so why would you take a drug that can cause these problems to get even worse?
