Acne is the most common skin disease. Nearly 17 million people in the United States have it. It is not difficult to diagnose. The doctor takes a complete medical history, including questions about skin care, diet, factors causing flare-ups, medication use, and prior treatment. Acne can occur at any age, but most people who have acne are teenagers and young adults. Common, reliable information about acne can seems scarce, and misinformation can make it difficult to achieve clearer skin. It is very common and medically classified as a skin disease. It is caused by excessive secretion of oily substance called the sebum by sebaceous glands.
