I have just bought a Jack Wolfskin Blizzard Jacket . If i am honest the styling is a tad old fashioned compared to an Arcteryx of a similar price but as a functional jacket it works wonderfully well. The weather has been foul enough to give a good testing and it has not let me down. Whilst out walking last weekend in a foul, squally gale the technical touches came into their own.
The hidden away hood was nicely adjustable and easily repackaged. The wind-proofness ended up being brilliant. I only had a baselayer beneath and i was nice and toasty. No drafts to generally be felt. Although windy the day was quite mild so another good touch , the ventilation zips came in handy.
One slight criticism was the fit around the neck. Im used to a tight wrap around neck on my old Berghaus. The neck on the Jack Wolfskin is comfortable but needs self tightening via a drawstring at the back of the neck. I can see this being an issue with gloves on.
Thats a small gripe really as the Blizzard is a fantastic bit of kit. I would certainly give 9.5 out of 10. The neck fit just letting the side down. I would suggest going to an Independent bike shops such as rutland Cycling. They offer one of the biggest cycling shops in the UK with a hugh selection of cycling equipment, clothing and parts.
Moreover after having a good weekend day you don’t seem as if a twitcher in the pub! Instead of showing up in the pub what about you ? get hold of good cycling jacket buy some cycle parts and join a bike. This will help you to help keep fit and help you serious money on booze. Its soon arriving at spring as well as lovely spring sunshine and light evenings are likely to arrive! Then why not taking a night ride?
Rutland Cycling is one of top UK bike shops displaying a wide range of biking goods at amazing prices. I’ve often bought a range of cycle parts from this shop and had good customer service and a friendly smile.
