Attention Deficit Disorder can sometimes be accompanied by other coexisting conditions. Often with ADD, these other conditions have similar symptoms and, therefore, are easily misdiagnosed and mistreated. This can creates a many types of problems, as these disorders, when separate, must be treated in a totally different manner. If misdiagnosed, it will lead to ineffective treatment and possible exacerbate the condition. As coexisting conditions, these are especially of concern, because they increase the severity of many of the symptoms of ADD, as well as the negative impact on those that suffer with them…..especially if young children or teens are involved.
