Stay busy. Sometimes the best thing you can do is get your mind off your problems. Helping others is a great way to feel like you are needed. Structure your time so that you spend less time concentrating on your depression. An active mind is a happy mind.

It is also important to be around people. Joining a support group is often a great way to meet people and feel less isolated in your depression. Loneliness is one of the leading causes of depression. If there are friends and family around, spend time with them.
